"Each One Lift One is still the way we roll here."

Your post, Dennis, reminds me of a song we sang as a round at Thich Nhat Hanh's Deep Park Monastery:

"Kindness

Kindness

That is the greatest

Wisdom of all."

Witnessed acts of kindness? How much time do you have?

This one stands out: a car stopped on a 2-lane road, flashers on, waiting well back as 4 yearling deer slowly cross in single file, eyes alert, their heads moving forward and back much like the camel to whom they are related.

Diane, thank you for that beautiful reflection—your story painted such a peaceful and mindful scene. I can picture those deer making their unhurried journey, completely present in their moment, and the driver showing quiet respect. That gentle pause feels like “Each One Lift One” in action—simple kindness that ripples outward.

Yes, Dennis, it was a mindfully peaceful moment to take refuge in

No one in a rush

No honking to move the deer along faster

Respecting the pace of the wildlife who have no clue about the badness & madness of wanna be kings & dictators

Took a few minutes for them to make their way to safety in the field - time to breathe & be glad for it

Love that you quoted Howard Zinn! He is SO reviled by the book banners. I'll be on the lookout for kindness while nurturing some of it myself. Thanks, Dennis.

Thanks, Jeff. Like the tides that ebb and flow, kindness returns, amplified and renewed, a testament to the interconnectedness of humanity. So together, let us be the current, the tide, the force that propels kindness forward, forever, my friend!

I completely agree! Imagine how uplifting it would be to start our day with stories of kindness and compassion. Just last week, I saw a young girl helping an elderly man cross the street, and it reminded me of the simple yet profound impact we can have on each other’s lives.
